Paulo Freire was een van de invloedrijkste progressieve pedagogen uit de tweede helft van de 20ste eeuw. Democracy Now brengt een interessant item over een nieuwe documentaire. De makers focussen op het basiswerk van Freire in de jaren '60. Hij werkte in wijken, in basisgroepen, en experimenteerde met zijn pedagogie van de verdrukten. De brutale extreemrechtse militaire staatsgreep maakte in 1964 een einde aan deze experimenten.

And that’s exactly what we ask in this film.
